There are some stupid statements, and then there are some more stupid ones:
“Home game machines are no good. Playing something that realistic makes the need for cars disappear.”
Really? Then why the hell did you put the FT-86 into Gran Turismo 5, might I ask? Also, games don’t let me drive to university. Just saying.

Looks pretty interesting. If I have time, I might make an attempt, but I’d have to see how much PVC tubes and fittings would cost me. It’s certainly more daunting than trying to assemble a model kit.

I know I talked about 360 users already having trouble getting storage space, and then this happens:
Brand-X Memory Units Won’t Work in Next 360 Update
So no more Datel Memory Units that are 2GB or whatever. Great way to piss off your userbase, Microsoft.

Word:
The 232-page study, commissioned by American regulators and released Wednesday evening, found that Canada rates poorly compared to peer countries when measures such as national broadband adoption, network capacity and prices are taken into account.
Funny, a week ago, there was an ISP-funded report saying otherwise:
The report, commissioned by Bell, Bell Aliant, Rogers, Cogeco, Telus, Shaw and SaskTel and prepared by telecommunications consultant Mark Goldberg, found that Canadians are well served in broadband, contrary to the findings of other international reports.

You’ll have to forgive me for the long rant, but I just wanted to get this out there.

Here’s Kojima on developing for different platforms other than the PS3:
“I don’t make games for platforms,” Kojima said. “I make games for players, and it’s because of the players that I’m able to be here.”
Statement of the century, right here.

So it’s been maybe a month already since the 360 demo came out, so let’s see how the PS3 demo fares:
- First off, the demo starts up at the beginning of the game, sans the story. We get three sections, all of which are through akrid, but feature the new jungle areas in general.
- Some of your favorites are back, but as usual are not too hard to kill.
- It appears they’ve tuned up the difficulty of the Salamander AI, and he’s now quite a bit tougher to beat. Same goes for trying to survive in his insides; more akrid are spawning at a time.
- The opening menu and the Salamander battle now feature orchestrated music! I wonder which orchestra they hired, but damn do they have a budget…
The framerate has drastically improved, even sometimes reaching 60 fps! I don’t know whether that’s a result of a month in the development lifecycle being very meaningful, or if the power of MT Framework is utilizing the 6 CPU cores on the PS3 efficiently. Seeing my previous benchmarks for RE:5 when switching from a dual-core to a quad-core CPU, this is probably not too farfetched of a possibility…
That said, an update to the 360 demo would help give me an understanding of whether this performance boost carried over to the 360 as a result of improvements in MT Framework 2.0, or if the PS3 will end up being the victor.
