PSP2 Collab Items Post-Release

November 29th, 2009

http://www.pso-world.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2398551&postcount=18

So it looks like SEGA can afford allowing extra collaborations beyond the UMD space. Might I make a couple of suggestions (though not wholly inclusive):

CHAOS;HEAD

  • All the Di-Swords as swords, except for Rimi’s which would be a Twin Dagger
  • Suimei Academy uniforms for men and women. Women would have more variations, particularly in choices like stocking colors, etc.
  • Seira-tan’s outfit, pre and post-awakening versions
  • Possibly Rimi’s “Final Attack” as a Photon Mirage? Doubtful
  • Hair styles covered from CHAOS;HEAD not already covered by PSP2

.hack

  • Kite’s Twin Daggers, Haseo’s X-Form Twin Daggers
  • Data Drain Bracelet as a Photon Mirage
  • All 8 Epitaphs as MAGs
  • Hair styles covered from .hack not already covered by PSP2

Sadly, I cannot think of anything for Steins;Gate. Despite it having a story x1000 that of CHAOS;HEAD, it unfortunately would not fit… :(

Lost Planet 2: Command Colony Beta

November 27th, 2009

Looks like the Japanese side has put up a place where people can register clans. Basically allows people to mail other clan members using the web interface, though the system is still in development as you can probably tell.

Adhoc Party w/ MGS Peace Walker

November 20th, 2009

F***ing epic. :D

Though it’s a shame, I had a group of 4 players including myself on PSN trying to take on the tank aiming for S rank. The best we managed was A rank, 5:54, no kills. :(

PS3’s Adhoc Party is great, it lets you connect the PSP to other players as if they were in the same room. Of course, voice chat/USB keyboard is supported, and you definitely want voice chat to be able to communicate effectively (these are supposed to be adhoc games, after all). There are a few bugs here and there with the interface, sometimes the network lags but it’s overall really cool.

Anyone want to post their experiences?

PSP Comments

November 15th, 2009

Just got a PSP-3000 recently, and thought I should comment on it a bit.

Unlike the PS3, only one account can be active on a PSP at a time. The PS3 can have more than one. I think Sony should have this fixed; it would lessen the trouble with people converting to the PSP Go, as there are people who would like to have content from both the US and JP PSN stores. Even if it means a PSN account can only activate 1 PSP at a time, being able to have multiple accounts active on a PSP would be really nice.

Speaking of which, multiple profiles on the PSP would be nice, just like how we have it on the PS3.

Regarding the XBL Bans

November 11th, 2009

http://kotaku.com/5402591/report-xbox-live-bannings-upwards-of-1-million

Okay, I see some myths rolling around in the comments, so I’ll make it quite clear and crisp here:

  1. Even if you mod a console, you cannot play any imports with it. As a result, the only reason you have to mod it is to play illegal duplicates of games.
  2. Only installing games to the 360 is locked out; savegames and others are still okay. On this note, if you install a 360 game to the HDD using one 360, you cannot use it on another 360; you have to re-install it there.

I’m disappointed that the majority of users in the Kotaku comments are misrepresenting #1 and #2 in different and stupid ways to try and defend modding a console, and defend how a console is banned. If you’ve modded your console, you have to be ready for the consequences. Failing to plan for them is planning to fail.

Steins;Gate Summaries

November 7th, 2009

http://naomi.thewafflehouse.net/sg/

Feel free to visit the site; character profiles don’t have spoilers, but the summaries will. Read at your own risk. :)

The page can be updated at any time, and chapters won’t all be up at once as I’m going over them to make sure they’re good to go.

The summaries are more intended for people who wish to play through the game, but don’t have a good grasp of Japanese. If you’re playing the demo, you can go through the Prologue and Chapter 1 summaries.

P.S. If anyone knows where I can get a text of the Steins;Gate story in the November issue of Nitroplus Complete, please let me know. Willing to translate! :)

P.S.S. Please leave comments about Steins;Gate summaries here!
