Apparently, some people are coming up with the idea that Clock Up is supposed to be running at the “speed of light”, but I haven’t seen any evidence to indicate this.

I had a look at previous episodes of Kamen Rider Kabuto, and as far as I can tell, there was nothing that explicitly mentioned that the Riders themselves were able to travel at the speed of light. In fact, if they were able to travel at the speed of light, they should have been capable of time travel (as per Einstein’s theory), and only anyone with the Hyper Zecter was capable of that.

Also consider the Worms; they don’t modify spacetime, but they hasten their metabolism instead to move faster; if this pushed them to speed of light, they too would also be time traveling, and only one Worm ever managed to do something really similar (froze time before Hyper Clock Up activated).

Also if you look at early episodes you’ll notice when Clock Up is initiated, people are still moving. If Clock Up really slowed down things to the speed of light, people wouldn’t be turning/spinning while in mid-air (presumably after being hit hard by something). They would be frozen in mid-air, instead. As a result, this proves Clock Up is actually not the speed of light, but rather some sublight speed, most likely closer to the speed of sound.

So whoever of you people are raging that Faiz Accel = Clock Up, that’s just too bad. :p

P.S. On the bright side, Faiz Accel fatigues the user and has a recharge time, compared to Clock Up.

P.S.S. Blade’s Mach (9 of Spades) is more likely to be capable of traveling at speed of light instead (without time travel), as it modifies spacetime in order to do so. Having said that, it hasn’t ever attempted it.

In any case, great stuff. Story still sucks, but Hyper Kabuto kicks ass. I wanna see how badly Tendou’s character was changed in GOD SPEED LOVE, and see why and how it made #1 in Japanese box offices during the summer. I also want to know why it took Toei 34 ****ing episodes to get to something cool.
Oh and, the traditional Kamen Rider kick makes its return! Screw the stupid roundhouse kick, didn’t resonate with me. ^^;
