It looks like Makoto’s arc is going to be ending on episode 10, and if the game is any indication she may be biting the dust now. I’ve taken the liberty of spoiling myself on what will happen based on the game’s ending so that I can work more on actually fansubbing the episode rather than being generally melancholic about it next week.
There’s a number of ways this could end:
- Game ending, Makoto disappears after being “married”. 90% chance of happening.
- Original ending, more satisfying and less depressing ending that makes everyone feel a little bit better about this stuff going on. 10% chance of happening, requires KyoAni to consult very closely with Key in regards to how to pull it off.
- TOEI ending, Makoto disappears before they reach the hill. 0% chance of happening, next episode preview prevents this.
All in all, if you were never prepared for the series’ drama, you should have never seen it to begin with.

Just a quick summary for those who haven’t been paying attention; so far we’re at episode 9. 6 episodes have been used as general-purpose episodes; mainly a setup for all the girls thus far. Makoto’s arc started on #7 and will likely finish on #10 given the circumstances and special music used for the Next Episode preview. That’s 4 episodes for Makoto. After that, with 4 girls left we’ll have about 14 episodes left to cover all of them. I’m inclined to think 3 episodes for each of the remaining girls, but Ayu gets an extra 2 for being the “main” girl. I’m thinking the order will be:
- Makoto
- Mai
- Shiori
- Nayuki
- Ayu
Makoto -> Mai since Mai had helped a little bit in this endeavor. Nayuki -> Ayu since those two are conflicting “main” heroines, so to speak. And Shiori -> Nayuki… just a guess at the moment. It seems logical, doesn’t it?
